I live in Brazil, and here, an Apollo interface, like the duo, costs 8k, and RME goes the same way, adding the fact that they're hard to find. JimI see, I agree with you that it shouldn't be a real upgrade, but like more of a crossgrade. Like most other interfaces in the LE Range, the 003 Rack is available in two packages, called the 003 and 003 Factory, the difference being that the latter.

You will need to get something like an RME to get a true upgrade from either the Focusrite or Digi stuff. No, that is more like a crossgrade, but not an upgrade. I had all of them and still have a 001 around in a closet someplace, not being used anymore and can not sell that and the card, since no one ever really wanted to get that unit back in the early 2Ks, when I wanted to sell it. I never liked the digi 001, 002, 003 products. If you want a controller, get an AVID/euphonix artist control used for like 500-700 USD. If you want something that will make a difference get an RME, UA Apollo, or something similar. Staying this same space will keep you buying things that do not really make that much of a difference. Their differences are more in their analog components, and even then they are all still very close/similar. because I will be very honest, most of the products below 2K, are all very similar in their conversion.
